The Guru of Gurus is no more
Peter F Drucker was one true colossus in the field of Management thinking, ideas and philosophy. I have always been in awe of this man. It was he who championed the concept of Knowledge Worker 4 decades back. I remember Googling the net all my free time sometime back to catch a glimpse of what Drucker is all about. I would search for every article, interview by him and about him and try to make sense out of it. I was never well endowed to buy his expensive books those days. I never had the inclination nor the time when i had the money. Maybe i will buy in future.
His PFDF site has been the one-stop shop for everything Drucker for guys like me.
Also, It was here that i came across my other favorite management thinker - Jim Collins.
This post is my humble tribute to Drucker.
And to catch a glimpse of his thinking, check out this article
He was as active as one could possibly be even at the age of 90+.
May his soul rest in peace.

Dear Karthik,
I have been a big fan of Peter Drucker and Jim Collins for years now. I get a news letter from Leader to Leader Institute about an outstanding Social Welfare Project that happens and they even give out award every year for the most outstanding Creative Non Profit. I might infact recommend SOCARE for that some time soon.
BTW, PD is the Father of Social Enterpreneurship and that is how I ran into him, I have couple of books he auhored, next time ur in Bangalore grab’em.
And of course Jim Collins is my Hero.
These are the only 2 major players I truly believe in Management world.
At a point when I was thinking of Pursuing MBA, I ran into these 2 stallwarts and then decided that to be a true leader you do not have to have an MBA.
Jim collin’s “Good to Great” and “Better to Best” are classic examples.
For visitors who do not know much about Jim collins :

with best wishes
