i agree that the govt could’ve devised a better system. but then for a corrupt society there is no such thing as a fool proof system.

Prabhu, u r correct and I find Q’s & Q’s of people standing in Ration shop fighting each other, but for the amount which is not deserved by them.

I found people wearing so much of jewels and well dressed with costly sarees and so on and still waiting fo the money meant for some other !

Also, I think, the Govt., should have been much careful in announcing these schemes.

Why not the govt officials go door to door (like they do for Voter ID/ration card issue/checking etc.) and distribute relief materials/money? That case, atleast the officials can see the exact status of the person claiming the relief amount..

I dont care what the govt says. but its simply that its meant for ppl who were affected.
if u have not been affected why do u want that money?

This is not meant for u. as simple as that.

What is the difference between this and a govt official who takes a kickback, afterall he too is taking money which is not his?

Think about this, a person who has lost everything gets 2000 and a persn who has a car, bungalow also gets 2000. i dont see any equity here.

i personally thought 2000 for flood relief was pea nuts. Now i know the other side of it.

i mean if the govt wanted to distribute money to all then its not flood relief its seasonal allowance, why ration card damn it? why cant they simply throw currency notes from a helicopter?
