Vishnu Vardhan did a super smart move by releasing the movie early and rather silently without much fanfare. I suspect a few of the better mvoies will die in the Tamil new year sentiment stampede. Psychologically, it could already be because Vishnu Varadhan already failed with Kurumbu and is not all that afraid of failure, whereas Selva has mostly been successful - that puts a tremendous amount of pressure.
