Client server concepts redefined
Today, i took an interview in our office. I dont know about the candidate but this being only my second interview as an interviewer (The first interview was in my previous organisation and it was long after we decided to hire that fellow anyway :)) and so i was obviously a bit edgy..
I was not sure what sort of questions to ask. My senior backed out at the last minute saying he was not necessary if i am in…
I was keen not to scare the person yet wanted to get the relevant answers from her…
Question (me to the candidate looking at her CV):
“You have mentioned client-server concepts, what exactly do you mean by that?”
Answer :
“Sir, the clients will come up with work and we are supposed to finish the work and send it to them..
Question (me, now have i not told before that i am innocent?)
“OK? so..”
Answer:
“Thats it sir”
Question: (a bit taken back by this)
“So, this is what you mean by client-server concepts?!!”
Answer:
“Yes sir”
What i would never understand is, how the hell did i maintain a straight face and why in the world did she ever mention this in her CV? !!!

to the best of my knowledge.. cient server concepts had something to do with the ser’s computer being called a client and the machine they access is called a server and they interact blah blah…
i think she confused client interactions with client server concepts r whatever..
what i would never get is, why the hell did she mention it in her CV when u dont know and when it was not a required area for her profile.
she came for a UI designer interview… idhuku client server ellam theriyanumnu avasiyam illai..
photoshop dreamweaver some basic usability olunga therinchurundhale podhum…
add to it she had 4 yrs exp.
hmph!

When I attend an interview, I assess the interviewer first and make my answers to fit his level of understanding. Perhaps, the girl did as I would do!:))

Ada paavigala !! Idhaana nelamai namma oorla ? Also another thing I have noticed in india..”I don’t know” nu badhil sonnaa adhu oru kevalam nu nenaichukkaraanga. Sometimes it’s a good thing, to be honest etc.
But client server matter semma comedy !

PK I could only LOL. I have had lots of experiences like this. But she should have been smart, by atleast knowing what is meant in her CV. Vellai Illa thindattamnnu solla mudiyathu. Yaarukku vitathu aasai. Manasuthan Puzhapai kedukuthu.
