Exotica de Goa
Thursday, June 15th, 2006Yay!! am back after what could only be described as a fabulously fantastic trip…This trip is memorable for so many right reasons.
One, this trip offered my first flight experience.
Two, this trip introduced me to a guy who is the epitome of responsibility without even remotely suggesting to be so - my friends’ friend Sundar of Bangalore.
Three, it made me think about taking up travelling and seeing new places far more seriously and regularly.
It also instilled in my mind one thing, Goa is definitely God’s own heaven.
And now, over to the photos…I took around 200 of them ofwhich only 20 will be featured here. Not that the rest have gone wrong. I am thinking about posting only the scenic ones and the candids. Stay tuned for more…

Start Meejik - First Kostin
Wednesday, June 7th, 2006Hey, i find too many biggies freaking out with some film based quizes in blogosphere. Inspite of me being the size of a Delhi buffalo, not many are prepared to consider me as a biggie in blogosphere. So here i go to rectify this ![]()
Find out the song and name of the film ![]()

Now seriously, i know this is not a tough one. But the magic of music and especially interludes is that it leads you slowly into the song and reveals itself beautifully. I’ve experienced this quite a number of times. I want my readers too to experience this…

What will i do
Wednesday, June 7th, 2006Maaya Priya has tagged me ( Kutti priya nu sonna consumer court la case potruvaanga :D)
I’ve stayed away from tags most of the times but this one was really impressive. Well, the tag is this. To quote her verbatim, if incase you HAVE TO switch fields once in a every 5 years between our 30 and 50 yrs of age assuming that your monetary needs are taken care in upper-middle class standards, what (4-5 professions) you would wish to do (and say few words about it) ?
First 5 year plan,
Wildlife Film Maker
I would join as an assistant to Shekar Dattatri and learn the rudiments of wildlife film-making. I would stay with him, maybe for a year or two in the jungles, and then make my own documentary. It’s really sad that not many know Shekar. He is, to my mind, one of the better independent wild-life film makers in India. I saw one of his documentary sometime back in a film festival and was mighty impressed. Some of the sequences were just mind blowing.
Actually, I think about what would’ve been my answer had this question been posed, say, 10 years back. I would’ve said “Assistant to Mani Ratnam” without batting an eyelid. I still admire Mani Ratnam, but of late Mani has become more of a brand. Being an assistant to him is no more a wild thing. It’s almost as safe as an MBA internship nowadays. Also, people like Shekar operate under great constraints. They don’t have the luxury of re-takes. Mani can ask Thotta Tharani and Sabu Cyril to recreate Mumbai and Sri lanka in Chennai. Shekhar can’t. Mani conceives something in mind and then pushes relentlessly till he gets what he wants. People like Shekhar, on the other hand, should wait for ever till they get what they want. For now, I am fascinated by the waiting business.
Second 5 year plan,
Independent Animator/Visual Effects Creator
Animations. To be honest, I am not well-versed in 3D animations. Some exposure to 3DS Max 3 is all I know with animations. But I am still in awe of animators. And when it comes to visual effects, www.405themovie.com is in a league of its own. Can u believe that it was done by two guys with a PC in their spare time? I would love to join those two as an apprentice and learn the tricks of the trade. Of course, I would come out and do my own thing! Nothing like it!!
Third 5 year plan,
Writer
Sit at home and write a best-seller novel like Michael Crichton
In a way, I am kinda satisfied that even within the constraints, I am doing things which is somewhere related to my dream jobs. I am scribbling something in blogs. I try to engage myself in photography though I am nowhere as good as I used to be during my teens. And design is my profession - be it user interface or multimedia. Maybe i would switch to 3d animations in due course…
I could not think of the 4th so let me conclude with this ![]()
Lalu logic is always lollu logic
Tuesday, June 6th, 2006You wanna know why?
How else would you explain this…
A train ticket from Place X to Place Y costs S amount.
But the return ticket, (booked in place X) costs S + 10 or 15 dependng on the ticket class….
Hmph!!
Grrrrr………

Avan: Apparently, one side of a cat has more hair. The findings of the Swedish scientific establishment have been corroborated by a special enquiry by the BB Feline Federation. Many hair counts were taken of the side in question and consistently it was found to contain more hairs. The scientists determined that more hair was required on this side to insulate the cat from the elements while it was lying down. Perhaps you would like to examine a cat to confirm the findings. Before you do, can you guess which side of a cat has more hair?
