It lacks many basic amenities for investing large capital. It can never be compared to anywhere near to chennai. People who invested large capital in coimbatore would definitely agree with my view. People are trying to show the land price of coimbatore as high just to attract the land buyers. But it doesn't worth much. Coimbatore has long way to grow. Dont over estimate coimbatore, it is just an ordinary city which lacks attracting big customers. For your information, since the above conversation contains IT industry, i add an point here. Some IT industry don't know what is coimbatore or where is it. Not many big concerns or workers are willing to come and work here. It is the real fact. Investing in coimbatore is just a waste of money and time. I will not recommend any large capital investor to buy a land in coimbatore. Coimbatore will not be a real profit. The prices in Chennai / Koavai or anywhere seems to be beating my house in Flushing in NY. Once a friend of mine said "Man, we sold our land in our village in thirunelveli district and now that is selling for 30 to 40 lakhs for 1 acre! I came to USA and am working my ass and I cannot make that $500K equivalent my ancestoral village property is going for!!".
