True! True!
Same bus no - but if I stand on the wrong side, I go in the opposite direction.
Atleast in most Chennai buses, its written in English also.
But in Blr, other than Volvo buses, all other buses have name board in Jilebis. Even after cing so many buses, I am not able to match the pattern as the bus whizzes past so fast.

I always admire something here in the US - Standardization of things. For example, the door knob sizes, bathroom hanger sizes, door sizes, sofa sizes, window sizes etc. Do we have such things in India...no idea..!

That said, the transport services are notorious for what you've written about and they don't even care about it !. A street smart person is supposed to ask people around and board the bus...without which he might be spat upon by the conductor and the driver for...requesting them to stop and get down.!

What a shame ! During my recent trip to India I noticed this and much more about our Bus services. Decent standard readable destination signs with the route must be made a standard. with readable colors and sizes of alphabets both in Tamil / English and our National Language as well.

We have so many educated people in the top rings of the Transport corporations yet, there are things like this.. What a shame.

Are the bus numbers and place names written in English along with Tamil?
Strange.. Bangalore has the bus boards only in Kannada and in Pune its Marathi..
I wonder why Tamils are labeled language fanatics.
