But it takes a while, there are umpteen documents to be signed and sent, verfied and of course, the merchant has to agree that he has sent goods to Kajaksthan than to your place. The customer is not allowed to contact the merchant - rather the banks (the customer's bank and the merchant's bank) talk to each other. Chargebacks are all hype and glory until a delay occurs - ivanai ketta antha bank nu solluvan, merchantai ketta unga bank thaan prechanai solluvan. Director Visu oru periya kaaviyame edupaar !! If the merchant has not delivered the goods, then it is a Chargeback. But if you have received the goods and instead of Nikon D200 if you had received Nik D2, then it is your headache - to be resolved between yourself and the merchant. Also, everyone has to be aware of 'Chargeback Rights' - your bank will wear some of the charges, provided they are of a reasonable amount, and credit you the money without checking with the other bank. Last word on this - don't assume that you can claim Chargeback on every damn thing you do using the credit card.
