Invite me too!!!!! The same happened with me! First, they were telling it will take around 6 to 7 months for transfer and was told to wait and then I was told the letter never reached the prev employer

I usually withdraw the amount from each PF account when I leave a company. Contrary to popular perception, the cheque is issued fairly quickly by the government.

Its the attitude that matters PK. Be it Govt office or private ones, what matters is the attitude of ppl in those positions.

When I joined my current company in UK, they undertook a large scale verification procedure - by contacting all my previous employers, university etc. I was a lil’ worried abt the references from the university. Surprise of all surprises, Bharathidasan univ did the needful by faxing the required details to my co. Worst part is my ex-employer (an IT co. you know) who just didn’t bother. All this, after being in that company for 7.5 yrs and getting relieved properly… After lots of phone calls and begging, they finally replied and saved my day.

Last line is a real punch. These days even pvt. companies behave the same way. Goes to show how sincere people are in their jobs. Infact customer apathy is ruling these days. Thanks to the buying power.

I dont understand the relevance of PF for IT employees. for me, for all practical purposes it just exists on paper. I think i am better off if the money is given to me. If i can handle a salary several times bigger than this every month, why shud the govt, keep this portion in their custody.

The worst part is even withdrawing will attract tax and you would not get it before 2 months.
