mahesh

to add to the point.
"oorula enna solvanga?"' is the key... not "naan enna ninaikiren.. neee enna ninaikire"

Ooru na edhu ooru? Do they mean Chennai city as a whole?

konjam kooda suya sindhanaye valarkadha education dhaan idhuku moola karanam...

I do not have excuses to this - assuming you are going to construe my earlier explanation as excuses :0

Political freedom has not translated well into opportunities for economic growth at individual level IMO...so socially accepted ngradhu rembo periya matter...add population which makes even a house broker compete with 200 other brokers in the same area...

extreme competitiveness makes people bend rules, cut corners everywhere.. i am trying to understand certain patterns through my posts.. justify panna try pannalai...

For e.g take education - My dad struggled for education per se... i struggled for my personal choices with education and career ...... hopefully the next generation will take these for granted and struggle for things worthy of struggling...

Bottomline: Ippodaiku edhai thinna pitham theliyum gra madhiri dhaan irukku...

Very true. I have the feeling that people in India are more concerned about external factors like physical appearances, qualifications, possessions, relationships and other factors than internal ones.

That's why they interfere in such decisions while they dont care about the day to day activities.

I have seen people excused of all sorts of devious activities just because they are rich, connected, highly educated or just 'veettu periyavanga'.This is the starting point for corruption.

Some people are berated excessively just because they happen to be poor or weak in some respect.

People go through all sort of suffering just for the prestige of owning a house. Have seen lot of those 'Maadi veetu yezhais'.
If the very same persons indulge in corruption to alleviate those suffering, nobody cares because ultimately what matters is the house.

100% true. I had an incident at a barber shop when the barber asked me if I had midlife crisis in life...( while he was shaving my beard ).

That's one thing I don't miss living out here. I feel it is in the other extreme here !

Can't have the best I guess.

Passing fees etc. - Shame !!
